We've just started renovating our old farm cottage. Hopefully in the not too distant future it will be a romantic nature getaway spot. Gables have been plastered, next step is the new roof. Our sheep have been supervising the process.
What a wonderful weekend this group of boys had as they stepped from childhood into adolescence. Our Western society has so few rituals that welcome transitions. We are always delighted to host such meaningful events on the farm. Activities included raft building, a night on the mountain and a sweat lodge. An amazing time of bonding and growth for fathers and sons.
We're very excitedly waiting for our sheep to arrive and are busy creating a safe place for them to be in at night. Our old stone cottage has had her roof removed and is waiting for her facelift. We're looking forward to having another beautiful space to share with our Blue Hippi visitors.
It's such a beautiful time of the year at The Blue Hippo. Every morning we are greeted by a sun bathed mountain
20 year seven learners from Gaia Waldorf spent three days on the farm having a great time. Activities included swimming in the dam (a great hit) Mandala making, Nia movement classes and time spent on our eco friendly adventure course created by dreamweavers. We loved having these wonderful young people on our farm and look forward to welcoming many more camps at The Blue Hippo.
We're so excited to watch the progress of our new Eco Rondavels being built by Dreamweavers. We are looking forward to furnishing them and having them ready for our Blue Hippo friends by early next year. The rondavels are made from 85% natural materials and already are being called Hobbit Houses. We'll keep you updated on our progress.
