We've spent the last couple of months renovating Love Bird Cottage and are so excited that it is almost complete. Thanks Willem and Anthony for all your hard work
Two lovely alpacas have joined our family. They are such beautiful creature and their job will be to look after the sheep, especially when the lambs are born. They make a lovely humming sound and when alerting us to danger they make a sound a bit like a guinea fowl. Welcome Luna and Pearl
We ran a wonderful sweat lodge for a group of women taking part in a workshop at The Blue Hippo. It's a purifying and sacred ritual that can bring healing and understanding of the self.
We were so excited to welcome 6 new Awassi sheep to our little herd yesterday. They are milking sheep so we will be learning how to make cheese and yoghurt. Our beautiful new sheep are settling in nicely, mingling with the rest and even chasing the cat. The 5 ewes are pregnant and as Awassis have twins or triplets we look forward to welcoming our new lambs and increasing our herd even further.
Our cottage renovations are coming along nicely. We've replaced the roof, painted inside, installed a solar geyser. We just need to paint the outside and it will be a lovely space
The best time of day to walk during summer is early evening. We have had temperatures of over 40 but the evenings cool down and the sunsets are spectacular
One of our cats loves to join us when we walk or ride. She gallops along after us, announcing her presence quite loudly
Our San Pedro cactus only flowers once a year in December. What a beautiful sight and smell to see them all burst into flower
