Blue Hippo Animal Sanctuary and Livery

The Blue Hippo is home to a variety of animals, many of which have been rescued/given sanctuary on the farm.

ALPACA TOURS can be arranged at R120 per person. This goes towards food, bedding, fencing, shelters etc

17 alpacas

All of these wonderful creatures need food, bedding, shelter and sometimes vet visits. If you would like to sponsor or support one of them, please contact us and let us know which one you would like to sponsor. We will send you regular updates. Livery on the farm:

We currently have a beautiful herd of horses on the farm. We have a few of our own, a number of rescues and the rest belong to livery clients. Our horses live as horses should, in a herd and out in nature. During winter they grow a shaggy winter coat and are not put inside or blanketed. They graze freely, with supplemented food only if necessary. The entire herd are deticked and dewormed on a regular basis and are visited by a farier also on a regular basis.
